| The City Wine Shop & Supper Club & Siglo
Setting the standard for both selection and service, the City Wine Shop's Gabrielle Poy slays her customers with her considerable charm and formidable knowledge. Look out for the stunning array of champagnes and a big and impressive list of malts, including the famed Lagavulin 12 cask strength and Penderyn Welsh whiskey

Gertrude St Enoteca
You've got to hand it to James Broadway, who else could have put such a fine an eclectic mix of Italian wines and single malt whiskies in one bar/bottle shop. Simply breathtaking. Big selection of spirits both by the bottle and glass including four of the stunning Nikka Yoichi and Miyagikyou malts.

The Gin Palace
This is one of those fabulous Melbourne bars that are tucked away in a basement far away from the madding crowd. Basically from the street it's just a door, but once you found it, your in for a real treat. Look out for Murray Pittman, an expert in all things bourbon. And guess what he is currently serving... George T. Stagg.

| Baranows Bar & Cigar Lounge
Big chesterfields, big spirit list and big cigars. Wal & Ben Baranow are the cigar kings of Melbourne but Ben's knowledge of spirits & his spirit list is legendary, but the malt list is singularly superb, bordering on magnificent. Check out the the rare and highly collectible malts by the glass!.

Kelvin Bar
This is what I love about Melbourne, these kind of places are dotted all over the city, but Kelvin Bar with David Vink is an absolute ripper… great enthusiasm, knowledge & passion. Perfect for the informed chat or just that great big chill out.

| Bistro Guillaume
This has to be one of the hottest places in Australia…have you seen how many reviews they have been getting? And all are good. And then there's the bar its downstairs from the bistro, Andy Waters is your man, it's dark, snug and very comfortable... and what a fabulous array of spirits, but pride of place are the malts. Great stuff guys.

Restaurant Bottega
After a short time away, Rhys is back as chef, and if you ask him politely he'll give you a whisky and food experience to die for. It is so good to go to a full on, classy restaurant and get someone who knows their stuff about malts. Just beg Rhys to do his smokey eel ravioli. Great stuff.

Vue de Monde
What can I say that hasn't been said before…and what a joy it is: the customer is paramount, the food is sublime as it is exciting and the beverage list including the malts is quite unbelievable. Raul is the head sommelier and if he can't help you with your spirit needs over dinner, then nobody can.

Gota love the food and for the foodie who loves a dram or two David Lawler has a small but carefully selected selection of singles by the glass. A juicy steak & a dram of Alchemist Caol Ila sounds mighty fine to me!

You almost want to say, direct from London & Ibiza but you can see the Euro influences in this neat 1st floor bar & grill. Russ McFadden is your man & small but high quality if ecletic list is his game.

Small, intimate & specialising in plated desserts with a small but highly intriguing spirits list! And if you think that spirits & chocolate don't match...then let Thibault weave his dessert magic on you!!

| Tarraleah Lodge
This is the ideal spot for a quiet dram while touring the wilds of Tasmania. The bar contains an excellent array of single malts that will entice even the hardened palate; the staff headed by Isabel Stevenson, are warm and friendly and so are bar surroundings. Look out for the Glenglassaugh 19, Macallan Travel series and the now rare Bladnoch 15 all poured by the glass.
