Blog Post Three: Now I'm getting the hang of this…
Johnnie Walker Swing...what a way to play spin the bottle! But I digress.
This blend was one of the last created by the original JW owner, Alexander Walker (grandson of the John Walker), and was designed for passenger liners in the 1932. The rocking of the ship would not upset the bottle, as it could swing! It started off as a "luxury blend" but today it's mainly an item for the duty free market.
Looks like this bottling came form the 1980's. And why Superior? It was the higher strength, 43%, version of JW Swing. I presume the same makeup as Swing, that is, Cardhu being the heart of this blend. Some bloggers also suggest a note of smoke is also in this blend.
Nb: Minor cellar stained label.
