Blog Post Three: Now I'm getting the hang of this…
What a name for a Caribbean distillery! I thought I was in Sweden. I'm told it is pronounced, "Eye-Flut" and it a village named after Dutch settlers in the 1600's. Then in 1750 they built a distillery named after the village.
Very sadly, this distillery was closed in 2000. So how amazing that stocks are still available!!
Official notes read: "Palate: Big rum, some ginger powder, kiwi fruits, brown bread toast with salted butter. Lychee, popping candy and lemon juice.
Finish: Faint tropical fruits, giving way to more grassy and herbal notes before oily notes take over."
American oak matured, 204 bottles released.
