Blog Post Three: Now I'm getting the hang of this…
Well there you go, an English whisky distillery being bottled by Scotland's oldest independent bottle, Wm Cadenhead. Who'd have thunk it!
St George's distillery (The English Whisky Co) was founded in 2006 and their first single malt was released in 2009. So here we have the Scots buying up early, they must have know something was good about it.
Cadenhead notes read, "A vatting of 1 heavily peated, 60ppm hogshead and 1 unpeated Hogshead from the English Whisky Company and tasting of: Initially ashy before giving way to vanilla custard, burnt oranges, cinnamon sticks and then more coal dust."
I presume it's American oak? 420 bottles released.
