Ardbeg Dark Cove, mmmm bourbon/sherry oak matured and at cask strength. Only ever released in 2016 with the claim that it is the “darkest Ardbeg ever“. The Committee was and is an Ardbeg fan club, and an incredibly successful one at that. It’s young, so the peat ppm will be high. To my eternal shame, I’ve sold quite a few but have never tasted it!

Finish: Becoming bitter, cinnamon, dark chocolate, espresso, oak, nut on the palate, the creamy notes come out over time, lots of nut, nice warming and slowly fading, surprisingly little smoke in the finish. 91 pts”.
