Barrel Craft Spirits are an American independent bottler that is not afraid to support a couple of Aussie retailers with some pretty neat private bottlings. This one was done for The Whisky List, based in NSW.
And what a surprise to see a well aged Canadian rye. So, who could it be now?
And on tasting it, this rye is a cracker! Green and grassy, bright spirit, with supple oak on the nose. On the palate: An amazing entry, clean fresh spirit, with a glycerol feel, fresh grass, caramel, good length, piercing spirit, a touch of kitchen spice that I can’t put my finger on and once again supple but balanced oak.
Overall, a fresh, clean and lively drop that I would rate: Ace!
