Description

Balblair seems to have dropped off Aussie maltsters radar.  Which is a shame, as I used to the love the full on maltiness of the mid 2000’s offerings.  But the distillery offerings were certainly not helped a number of label changes by the current owners.

So what a joy to see Balblair at cask strength and matured in a sherry cask.

And the result?  Young and feisty yes, but the malt and sherried fruits bring it back down to earth.  Surprisingly good balance, but as will all Blackader Raw Cask, there is still a pleasing bite.
