Blackadder Raw Cask Lochranza 1996 23yo Sherry Butt Cask 932
Lochranza? It’s a place but the island it is on says it all. Isle Of Arran. But have a look at its age! The then, only distillery on Arran, was only officially starting producing spirit in 1995.
So this Raw Cask, really does hark back to the early days of the revival of distilling on Arran.
From WhiskyBase, “Very nice Arran. Fat and oily. Great cask… not over the top sherry that dominates the spirit, but completely complementary. A rarity nowadays it seems. Leafy, dunnage, floral, milk chocolate”.
Whilke another opines, “Oily with seaweed, marmalade, white pepper and sultanas, long and lingering with toasted almonds and brown sugar.”
577 bottles only.
