The UDV/Diageo Flora & Fauna range, another creation from that wunderkind, Mr Mike Collings. This series was to be a showcase of the “other distilleries” that UDV, now Diageo, that were not included in the Classic Six.

And once again, it came out of the early 1990’s, an era where single malts were still out of fashion.

For another hidden malt, Blair Athol has been hiding under its bushel for over 220 years.  A big part of the Bells blend, Blair Athol’s style has been described as, “Sweet and fragrant and rich on the palate.

I presume this was laos released in the early 2000’s.

Official notes read, “A full, rich and spicy 12-year-old single malt whisky. Slightly dry on the finish with lots of sherry notes and a slight hint of minty herbal notes. An interesting whisky with an unusual sweet aftertaste…”.
