Description

A 2015 release, where the folks at The Laddie could only manage 169ppm. Just think poor old Ardbeg 10yo is at a mere approx 50ppm.

Here’s what I wrote way back then…”For what I think is the first time, American oak is used in conjunction with Spanish wine casks. And according to Malt Review, all the barley comes from Islay”.

Malt review reported, “As it stands, the Octomore 7.3 is still very good. I liked 6.3 as I like this one a lot more. It’s lost the earthiness and replaced it with more elegance. And it’s the first Octomore I might consider as a more social, sharing, great night dram, as opposed to something more brooding and introverted, which have felt typical for the rest of the range. I’ve spent quite a bit of time with this now and it’s a brilliant whisky. This bottle is now on my Christmas list.”

NB: Cellar scuffed canister.
