Description

All bourbon cask matured and famously triple distilled.

Yet very sadly, and more often than not, triples are dismissed as light, entry levels malts.  And this belief is not helped by this particular distillery.  But under Cadenhead cask selection, this myth is definitely busted.

My basic notes, “Crisp grainy nose, good dose of American oak, hint of fruitiness with toffee. On the palate, Crisp malt to the fore, medium/dry, narrow but good length, crisp intensity, lingering. Some fruitiness (apples/pears), supple creamy oak, dry oaky finish.

Doesn’t look like a standard Auchentoshan”.

Official notes read,
“Apple sours, peaches and cream, apricots and soft mint. Butterscotch, cream cheese frosting, summer fruits. Toffee, chewy meringue, very tropical”.
