Malty, fruity, vanilla and pastry flavoured Glentauchers, a big Chivas distillery, matured in a curious mix of creamy American oak, fruity and rich oloroso sherry oak and crisp, dry and salty Manzanilla sherry oak.

My notes read, “Big and fruity, sherried fruit, spicy oak. Gentle malt and oak, sweet but balanced.
Kitchen spice entry, intensity, then the sherried fruit and spicy oak turns up.
Medium to full bodied, lively spirit keeps it in balance. Finishes with spirity dried fruits. And it just lingers.

A good, old fashioned sherry style”.

Official notes read, “This is truly an intriguing dram. Dessert notes and hints of dried fruit are present throughout, combining to create a sweet lovable whisky. Dried fruits, malted rye bread, sticky toffee pudding.  Crème brulée, golden raisins, fruit and nut chocolate”.
