Cadenhead Original Collection Jura 12yo Manzanilla Sherry Cask

Aaah!  Manzanilla, that dry, lean and intensive aperitif sherry that is not often seen used in conjunction with a single malt whisky. My mouth just waters thinking of it.

And for 2023, Cadenhead’s have matured that gently seaside influenced Isle of Jura malt with this classic sherry style.

From WhiskySaga, “Medium body and sweetness. Apples covered in a thick layer of icing sugar and a sprinkling of dried ginger and apricot. Then a hint of camphor actually.  Medium long finish. More camphor as well as some maltiness. Earthy, fruity and salty. Grapes and artificial sweetener in the end”.

Official notes read, “Burnt marshmallow, applewood, vanilla pods.  Beefy notes, salt beef, juicy prunes, mango, fruity chewing gum. Nice texture on the finish, slightly oily”.
