Cadenhead Original Collection Loch Lomond 17yo Heavily Peated Oloroso Finish

Aaagh!  That most enigmatic of distilleries in Scotland.  Where all sorts of spirit types are produced under one roof.  So, to see a highly peated Loch Lomond is quite a surprise.

And what surprises me most with Loch Lomond.  Both current indie and official bottlings have been rather splendid.  Especially the Cadenhead bottlings.

Cadenhead notes read, “this is a heavily peated dram, known as their “Inchfad” expression, and was matured in Oloroso sherry casks since 2021. It displays bbq meat notes from the outset and slight hints of cinnamon and pepper add a mild spice to the dram that also has a sweet element on the palate. A mix of both bold and subtle flavours”.
