Owned By John Dewar and sons, this large distiller, has undergone a bit of a renaissance with a number of new official bottlings coming onto the market over the past six years. But this Cadenhead offering is probably the youngest Craigellachie to be released and at a pleasing cask strength.

All bourbon oak with an out-turn of 522 bottles.

I briefly tasted in March 2020 and quite agree with Cameron’s Cadenhead notes, “Some dark chocolate and a faint trace of dry smoke. Soft brown sugar with some saltiness and a touch of roasted pineapple. Finishing grassy and herbal with hints of hay, sage, oregano and fresh cut grass.”
