Oily, creamy, fruity, honeycomb…

Sold out!

Don’t know the bottler. Never had an 18yo Glen Garioch before.  And I generally feel grumpy about 500ml bottlings.

On the bright side: I’m very intrigued with new bottlers, just love Glen Garioch and am totally excited about an 18 year old version of it.  Even when it’s a 500ml bottle. Oh, and you should know my feelings about sherried malts…mmmmmm.

My love affair with this distillery stems from their richly textured spirit and the pleasingly maltiness of the spirit as well.

Darkness hails from Atom Brands (Master of Malt), so in their words, “Palate: A warming core of richly roasted malt leads to woody spice and dark forest fruits. Plums and cherries build, with hints of dates and clove in the distance.  Finish: Bittersweet cacao tangles with the drying oak spice, with lasting notes of dark cherries and berries”.

From WhiskyBase, “Oily, creamy, fruity, honeycomb, good sweetness, more ripe fruits, apricot, peach, some tropical fruits, spices, little pepper, cooked fruits, jam, fruit cake, vanilla, hint of oak wood – still good! Finish: Medium long, warm, fruity, vanilla, spices, pepper”.
