Distillerie Bertrand 3yo Biersky Distilled Beer And Malt Alsace Whisky

Hailing from near Strasbourg in France this distillery, found in 1874, began making single malts in 2002. Using a Holstein still (ie a pot and continuous still combo) the owners use a local beer for their wash.  Hence, Biersky.

The distillery also use a variety of used French fortified casks for maturation.  And another added feature of this spirit is that is actually an eau-de-vie and single malt blend.

Think a fruity grappa meeting an oaky malt.
