A 2008 bottling from a distillery that at times is misunderstood.  And why?  Well, Benrinnes’ spirit can be fat and viscous but a tad sulfurous.   And these flavours are exactly what the blend producers want but ones that consumers can flinch over.

Once again that old perfume makers adage, that a bit of grunge accentuates the prettier flavours.

However, with this DL bottling, the spirit has been fully matured in a sherry butt.

According to the label, “Sweet spices, marzipan and more nuts.”
