Equipo Navazos: famed Spanish indie bottlers of not only whisky and brandy, but also of their native fortified wines: sherry.

Manzanilla: Manzanilla is a dry white wine, almost identical to Fino sherry except for the fact that it can only be produced and matured around Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a town closer to the sea than Jerez. The climatic differences make it lighter than Fino wines.

This bottling is from 2022 and bottled on demand,  So, it’s fresh, lively and appetizing.

From the Wine Advocate, “It might have more flor character even if the soil is very much present, especially in the textured palate. This has incredible quality for the price. This particular bottling felt unusually fresh for the time it had already been in bottle. It has more body and structure, and it might develop slower and longer.” 92+ points, Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate”.

Official notes read, “It’s a potent and briny wine, with a seductive texture and a deep tangy drive. The wines spent over 4 years under flor, providing a vibrant orange/gold colour and some nutty development. 2021 bottling notes”.
