New for 2023 and for this release, the normally the dry, floral and grassy but engaging Linkwood is given a layer of sweetness courtesy of a sweet tasting Madeira staves mixed in with the Firkins regular American oak staves.
That is the Firkin method.
My notes read, “Soft, gentle, pulpy, sweet oak, dried citrus fruit, great balance on nose, dig for malt, baked bread,
brown sugar. Leanness comes out on the palate, amazing light mouthfeel that fills every nook and cranny. Lingering madeira oak, dried oranges, clean and precise, but the malt is fighting for attention. Subtle but splendid. A touch of wax. Balance and harmony”.
