Gleann Mor Highland Park 2010 10yo

Gleann Mor is a new indie bottler for me, located in Edinburgh, the company was founded by a Mr Derek Muir in 2015.  According to Scotchwhisky.com, “Many of these releases come from the acquisition of privately owned casks rather than via the usual route of cask brokers”.

What intrigues me with this dram, is that the importer declares it has been  matured in a manzanilla cask.

My notes read, “It’s an old fashioned HP, a tad sulfurous, earthy, struck match, coffee, chocolate, gentle smoke
Soft and gentle malt, seaside notes, well handled oak, subtle fruit notes.  Good length, lingering, full mouthfeel,

From a UK retailer, “A nuttiness with hazelnuts and chocolate covered Brazil nuts, along with Christmas cake, sherry soaked cranberries, espresso, and cask stave.  A robust, earthy finish provides dark chocolate, black tea and sticky raisins”.
