Description
Gleann Mor is a new indie bottler for me, located in Edinburgh, the company was founded by a Mr Derek Muir in 2015. According to Scotchwhisky.com, “Many of these releases come from the acquisition of privately owned casks rather than via the usual route of cask brokers”.
And take a look at this beauty. A forty year old Bunny. Amazing. It has been suggested that this malt was matured in a refill sherry cask.
And I was very fortunate to try it, “Subdued nose, clean, very gentle sweet oak, wood spice. On the palate: Long, wide, lush palate, good integration, gentle barley sugar, no smoke. Long and lingering complexity, with subtle dryness”.
This malt comes from the era when the pre-Edrington Highland Distillers owned it. And possibly, this is the era when Bunny’s were all unpeated.
