Glendronach 21yo Parliament Sherry Casks

Description

This malt would almost have to be Gelndronach’s flagship.  Well aged, sherry oak (oloroso and PX) matured and tastes long, rich and deeply flavoured.

And very sadly, so hard to come by.

From WhiskyWash, “Mexican chocolate; hot pepper; watercress; oloroso sherry gains the upper hand; a fatty red meat note hangs back, as of beef brisket; wet ash; furniture polish; ginger snaps; black strap rum; menthol (at an acceptable level); vanilla bean; dry oaky tanins that turn bitter, along with anise. As Yoda says, “Complex, this one is!”

Official notes read, “Resolute flavours of fine Oloroso sherry and bitter chocolate sauce, which has been spread liberally over homemade plum pudding. This is all infused with fabulous spicy notes – cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Full bodied with smooth tannins. Long and lingering”.
