Description
This ten year old is a really old bottling from Glengoyne, as the Langs Smith Importers on the label, refers to when Yalumba, S Smith & Son, used to distribute it. And from memory that was pre 2004 and it would have been the period when Edrington owned the distillery.
I got involved with Glengoyne when Ian McLeod distillery bought the company in 2003. My best seller in the era was the sherried 21yo. But what is surprising, is that their range of single malts were only first launched in the later half of the 20th century.
This would be a late 1990’s early 2000 bottling.
So, I’ve always had a soft spot for Glengoyne, a softly rich, malt driven dram that brings pleasure to a jaded palate.
NB: Minor cellar scuffed labels. No box.
