Glengoyne Cask Strength Batch 008

Description

A young Glengoyne at cask strength.  What a treat.  Matured in a mix of Ex Bourbon and sherry casks, results in a lively and robust dram that was first released in 2020.

From Whisky Saga, “Full bodied, sweet and spicy. White pepper, cinnamon and ginger. Strawberries and ripe apples. Marzipan and chocolate. Medium long finish. Remains sweet and fruity all the way. The spices have dissipated by now. Buttered toast, unsalted peanuts and coffee. Comment: The nose is a bit shy, but I like the big and aromatic palate”.

Official notes read, “Matured in one third sherry casks, two thirds refill casks and a smattering of bourbon barrels. Big and bold with a gloriously thick mouthfeel and a delightful, lingering, oak-infused finish.
