Description

The UDV/Diageo Flora & Fauna range, another creation from that wunderkind, Mr Mike Collings.  This series was to be a showcase of the “other distilleries” that UDV, now Diageo, that were not included in the Classic Six.

And once again, it came out of the early 1990’s, an era where single malts were still out of fashion.

Glenlossie is a major part of Haigs and Dimple blends. The only official bottling for this distillery is the Flora And Fauna offering and this was first released in 1990.  The house style has been described as, “sweet and voluptuous”.

From WhiskyArt, “On the palate, the whisky is smooth, welcoming, with a malt note that embraces yellow apple, pear fruit juice and ginger, without missing the company of a tasty yellow peach. The finish has a medium persistence and leaves in the mouth above all a memory of malt and, with a vagueness bordering on mirage, of white fruit…Too bad it’s hard to find”.

Official notes read, “Sweet, lightly fruity, well balanced, with just a whiff of smoke. This herbal and floral style single malt whisky is a fine example of a ‘Top Class’ Speyside”.
