Description
Grand Old Parr was the “De Luxe” version of Old Par, first released in 1870’s.
De Luxe blends were marketed as being superior and hence more expensive than the regular releases. Generally, De Luxes normally had no age statement.
This 750ml version also looks like it comes from the 1980’s, while the 43GL refers to the French, Guy Lussac, as the percentage of alcohol in the bottle.
From WhiskyBase in 2016 of a more modern version, “Surprisingly strong taste compared with the nose. There are a clear fruitiness towards sherry, a pleasant sweetness combined with light peat. warm peppery spices.
Finish: Long warm filled with fading spices and sherries fruits.”
NB: Condition of bottle and packaging.
