Holyrood Elizabeth Yard Longpond 2000 21yo Single Cask Jamaica Rum

Description

Holyrood is a relatively new distillery based in the heart of Edinburgh, their Elizabeth Yard range is their independent bottling arm.

Longpond distillery is based in Jamaica and has long been associated with Capt Morgan rums.  But to see a well-aged  21yo is quite extraordinary.  Especially considering that a massive fire some time ago nearly wiped out their aged stock.

Official notes read, “Muck is a living system of bacteria that creates acids that supercharge ester formation during molasses fermentation. We think muck is super cool and the resulting high ester funk in this bottling of Longpond says it all”.
