An excellent example of a classic gin with a twist…
Holyrood Height Of Arrows Made By Edinburgh Gin
From that new upstart distillery in Edinburgh, Holyrood, comes their first official spirit: gin. And given their penchant for thinking out of the square, this gin is no ordinary gin.
Official notes read, “Height Of Arrows is a gin that has been created with whisky in mind. Drawing on the idea that whisky’s myriad of flavours rely on a handful of ingredients, Height Of Arrows rejects the idea of numerous botanical additions.
Height of Arrows is gin stripped back to its core, juniper alone and juniper celebrated along with Isle of Skye salt and natural beeswax”.
From David T. Smith at Gin Mag, “Nose: Bright, resinous and piney with plenty of summery citrus – a ray of sunshine. Palate: Well-rounded texture with a good, balanced character. There are notes of juniper, coriander, floral rose, peppery spice, and a little of the citrus from the nose. Cleanly distilled with a pleasant and enticing touch of sweetness. Finish: Hints of sweet spice accompanied by long, lingering notes of pine and peppercorns.
Comments: An excellent example of a classic gin that ticks all of the boxes; it would be superb in a Martini. Score 8.9:
