Description
From Hunter Laing indie bottlers comes this Islay and fully peated malt and pleasingly at cask strength. I presume it has been matured in ex Bourbon oak?
From WhiskyCast, “The taste is thick and oily with a pepperiness that builds up slowly along with a gentle peatiness and hints of campfire smoke. The palate turns slightly ashy, but not enough to overpower hints of toffee, vanilla, and butterscotch candies in the background. The finish is long with a lingering pepperiness and a touch of peat ashes.”
Official notes read, “The signature sweet, peaty Scarabus profile, with extra intensity, mouth feel, and an even more lingering finish”.
