Description

The UDV/Diageo Flora & Fauna range, another creation from that wunderkind, Mr Mike Collings.  This series was to be a showcase of the “other distilleries” that UDV, now Diageo, that were not included in the Classic Six.

And once again, it came out of the early 1990’s, an era where single malts were still out of fashion.

Inchgower, since 1938 has been the the heart and soul of the Bells blends.  This version was launched in the 1990’s and has been described as tasting of grass and ginger with lively spirit.

From WhiskyTastings, “Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and a great balance between honeyed sweetness and lemony citrus tartness. Lots of ripe fruit with mango and honeydew melon, fresh mint, brazil nuts, lots of toffee and a maritime undertone with salty seaweed. Medium long with honeycomb, tobacco and dark chocolate”.

Official notes read, “This 14-year-old single malt whisky is a conundrum, in which the aromatics, and even the flavour, change continually. This is a complex and interesting mix with a sweet palate and bitter finish”.
