Jura 12yo Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish

Description

A soft, easy Islander where the malt is the primary flavour and peat is very much a distant note.  For 2021 and 2022 we are now starting to see the new packaging while the maturation still remains the same, matured in ex-Bourbon barrels then finished in Oloroso sherry casks.

From the WhiskyWash, “The promises of the aroma are fulfilled with more developed tropical fruit and chocolate notes. The coffee characteristics balance out the slight sherry sweetness with a touch of bitter. The smoke only presents itself faintly during a medium finish”.

Official notes read, “Bourbon cask maturation and an aged oloroso sherry finish produce a honeyed sweetness that offer notes of warm spice, banana, soft citrus and a finish of freshly ground coffee and dark chocolate”.
