Kilchoman Madeira Cask Matured 2021 Release

Description

From Kilchoamn’s limited edition range comes this Madeira cask matured malt.  According to the distillery, “Distilled in May 2016 and matured for 5 years and 3 months in 46 fresh Madeira hogsheads, before being bottled at 50% abv in August 2021 and released in March 2022”.

From WhiskyBoys, “On my palate the peat smoke is showing well, more vanilla, a wee citrus burst, a puff of white pepper, mild spices are creeping in, honey on toast. Finish…A delightful long finish, sweet peat smoke, a mixture of citrus and mild spice all sitting on a Whisky barrel stave.

This must be one of the best Kilchoman expressions I have ever tasted. As an Islay and peated Whisky lover this one ticks all the right boxes”.
