A big burly whisky with a sweet side…
Laphroaig 32yo Cask Strength 2015 Bottling
This venerable old malt from Laphroaig, was released as part of the distillery’s 200th birthday celebrations. Only 5,880 bottles bottles were produced in 2015.
Cask strength, Oloroso sherry cask matured and Laphroaig’s famed spirit. What a combination!
From CaskCartel,”Very svelte mouthfeel, well integrated smoke mingles with prominent cocoa, just a touch of seaweed giving this heavily Sherried malt a sense of place and plenty of cinnamon spice. Very long, initial dark Christmas cake with coal ash coming through”.
And from the WhiskyJug, “The Laphroaig 32 is a big burly whisky with a sweet side, like a thug who does charity work on the weekend. This thick muscular whisky is the product of being aged in Oloroso sherry casks in a cozy part of the warehouse and when compared to the Laphroaig 18 it’s honestly a bit surprising it turned out so peaty. Compared to L18 the Laphroaig 32 is a monster”.
