Typical smoke, iodine and ash…
Laphroaig Lore Richest of The Rich
Originally released in 2016, this big flavoured, no age statement Laphroaig was matured in a combo of sherry and American oak casks, including quarter casks. It also appears to some older as well as younger spirit in the mix.
And it’s definitely a dram for all the peat heads and Laphroaig devotees out there.
From Gerhans on WhiskyBase, “It’s a spicy chili bomb, with that typical smoke, iodine and ash profile inherent to Laphroaig. Although it’s a NAS bottling, the leathery, tobacco qualities give away the fact that there are definitely some older components in this mix (rumor has it there is whisky as old as 21 years mixed in the equation that makes up the Lore).”
