Mackmyra Destination Swedish Single Malt Whisky

Swedish Mackmyra is quite the success story, starting in 1999,  the distillery has now expanded into new premises with the old distillery now used for experimentation.  And these Swedes are not afraid of innovation.

Destination is a single malt that matured in American oak and then finished in Port wine seasoned American oak along with a small amount of Oloroso sherry oak.

From WhiskyUnplugged, “First thoughts: I could polish off a bottle of this whisky very easily. Lovely texture. Lovely flavours. Lovely depth, whilst remaining fresh and fruity”.

Official notes read, “Prominent notes of vanilla fudge and almond paste that comes from the American oak casks. Sweet raisins and berry-like nuances of white heart cherry and blackberry. Aftertaste: Sweet berries and hazelnut, finished with lively notes of oak”.
