Michters 10yo Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon

With a heritage dating back to the late 1700’s, it has only been in the last few years or so that this famous name name in Bourbon has been resurrected.  Hard times in the 1980’s saw the distillery being closed.  But a new distillery was  opened in 2017.

So, this distillate comes from an independent bottler who sourced the spirit from an a unnamed Kentucky distiller.  But the name and the style of the spirit, even from this era has lit up the world of Bourbon collectors.  Needless to say, stock is extremely limited.

From WhiskeyReviewer in 2020, “The liquid is silky, but dry. Woody spices sit atop a platform of candy bar goodness, an extra earthy combination of cocoa, caramel, maple syrup and nougat. The finish ran long, dry and spicy, ending with a dash of barrel char”.

Official notes read, “Big and bold dark toffee and caramel, charred oak, maple syrup, vanilla”.
