Soft and gentle, with gristy malt…
Morrison Carn Mor Macduff 2011 10yo
Can’t really say that I’ve had many Macduff’s in my portfolio over the years, but it’s a nice one to have on the shelves. A relative unknown distillery who’s production mainly goes into Dewar’s blends, but recently, it has been bottled as a malt under the Deveron label.
My notes read, “On the nose: soft and gentle, gristy malt. On the palate: There’s that gristy malt again, soft entry and exit with the main show appearing mid palate with bright alcohol, the grain and gentle oak being well combined. There is a hint of black pepper at the end”.
