Happiness for me in brandy, is when the French don’t use caramel to colour, with resultant flavour and deadening effects, in their spirits.

So, when I tasted this 20yo, a massive smile came over my face.  No caramel.  Just pure, intriguing, complex and totally enjoyable Cognac from a small producer called Raymond Ragnaud.  And I don’t use that word complexity lightly as grape based spirits can supply this by bucket load.

And what equally knocks me over with this brandy, is the price.  Great value for money.
