Description

Full peat, full Islay and full cask strength.  Welcome to Bruichladdich’s heavily peated malt, Port Charlotte. And low and behold: It’s an indie bottling!

And it looks like this was an exclusive for France.

From Whisky Turnip, “Savory and rich, there is tobacco smoke, leather, and dried meat leading the way. The art studio appears as an earthy smokey fired stone kiln full of baking clay pottery. Rounding out the earthy notes are dried dung and a burning cow paddy. It is faintly sweet, smokey, and rich with earth.  Long and earthy, a burning dung pile”.

Burning dung pile!?

Official notes, “Fine, airy. On the attack, peat and smoke play on equal terms with fresh-cut grass and candied fruits. On the mid-palate, ginger and liquorice stick provides a fibrous and somewhat tannic interlude”.
