Samaroli may have change of owners, and from an artistic point of view, there has also been a quite profound change in the style and design of the labels.  But rest assured, the renowned quality of these Italian indie malts remains the same.

I like Ardmore, especially indie bottlings,  that rich maltiness with a good dose of peat.  This 2021 release was matured in American oak.

From a well-renowned retailer, “Quite oily on the palate, with more savoury, meaty notes balanced by sweet spices, plus a touch of cherry.  Slightly bready, with smoke and salted peanut notes”.

Official notes read, “Soft and mellow with intense and very long notes of cocoa, vanilla, straw, pear, cherry, grapefruit and caffeine. Aromatic and sharp taste, slightly smoky and rightly peaty with a finish of licorice, yogurt and barley soup”.
