Sipsmith London Dry Gin

Some say…that Sipsmith started the current gin revolution, way back in 2009.  I trust they are pleased what they have done as there are now gin distilleries everywhere, especially in Australia.  My closest is 10 minutes away and very soon it could be down to 5 minutes.

Made in London, with the spirit derived from wheat while the botanicals are believed to be: Almond, Angelica, Cassia, Cinnamon, Coriander, Juniper, Lemon, Licorice, Orange, Orris Root.

From GinIsIn, “The palate of Sipsmith Gin unfolds in three waves. Juniper with an expressed pine character comes on early, with bright lemon curd, mandarin flesh and citrus mid-palate.

The finish is where some of those spice notes come through. Cassia, cinnamon and coriander merge into a vague, gentle pepperiness. There’s a creamy hint of licorice root that rounds out an herbaceous juniper note with the slightest hint of bitter orange.
