“As a more traditional Speyside single malt, there’s a really nice well-balanced sweetness to it on the palate. It’s subtle and very lovely.”
George Thomson, Whisky Curator

Another hidden malt, this time from the Chivas stable.  Currently there are only two official and three Chivas visitor centres only official bottlings.

But with the indies (Independent bottlers), there are quite a few.  And this one is a ripper.

Official notes read, “Nose: Whispers of wood, sweet vanilla and hazelnut mixed with a dance of apple Palate: A fruity and delicious apple pie with raisins with a drizzle of vanilla.  Finish: A distant hint of leather and tobacco with a lovely dry satisfying feel at the finish”.

From my scrambled notes, “Big richly creamy, buttery nose, what a delight.  On the palate, sweet honeycombe and crisp malt entry then the sweet creamy oak arrives, the palate is long an narrow and the bright spirit keeps it from being too sweet and cloying.  This has a really good mouthfeel and it finishes and lingers with notes of sweet honey and buttery oak.  Ace!”
