The Shed Drumshanbo Galanta 2022 Release Triple Distilled Irish Single Malt Whiskey

The Shed is one of Ireland’s newest distilleries and hails from Co Connaught.  And this new 2022 release from Drumshanbo, the Galanta edition, is quite special, see may notes below.

All Irish malt, triple distilled, Kentucky bourbon cask matured and at a reasonable 46%.  And it looks like they distillery doesn’t use any unmalted barley in the still.

Big G’s thoughts, “Soft creamy American oak, initial gristy malt, honey, clean, crisp, great length and width, narrow with weight, glycerol texture, surprising for a triple.  Right at the back a hint of oak spice and white pepper arrives, but the tang of the spirit keeps it lively.  And it just lingers”.

Official notes read, “A delicious balance of honey, roasted nuts, and hints of sweet apple, followed by a warmth of spice to excite the palate”.
