This well-aged Jura comes from a period when Charles Mackinlay & Co owner it.  And according to industry experts, it was an era when the spirit was routinely partly matured in sherry and wine influenced casks.  That all stopped in 1995.

I’ve always found Jura to be soft and gentle and a safe dram to hand around.  But I’ve never tasted such an ancient one.

Here’s my notes, “Big, fulsome nose, soft oak and malt, autumn fruits, amazing complete nose, honey, buttery.
On the palate: Seaside notes, butter, great length, a hint of peat, big mouthfeel with lingering Autumn fruit flavours with spicy honey.

In two words: Most Excellent.”.
