Willett Family Estate 10yo Cerbaco #2 Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Over the last few years, that stylish Australian importer of mainly French wines and spirits, Cerbaco, have struck up an good relationship with US bourbon producer Willett.

Willett are best known for theor Noah’s Mill, Rowan’s Creek and Johnny Drum range of American bourbons and ryes.  But every so often, they allow Cerbaco to choose an exclusive single cask whiskies and ryes for Australian.

So, for 2023, I have been fortunate to be offered two: A Kentucky Straight bourbon and a rye whiskey.  And pleasingly, both are at cask strength and are ten years of age.

With Cask # 2, only 184 bottles were produced.  And in the words of the Cerbaco taster, “The barrel selected had a fantastic nose, that lingered on for the duration of the tasting (over an hour!) This is a classic Willett bourbon recipe (72% corn, 13% rye, 15% barley) with a strong flavour profile of cinnamon, biscuit, gingerbread, and a little bit of spice”.
