Before he was bottling Blackadder, Robin was a music journalist and interviewed the likes of Rod Stewart and ABBA. But whisky struck a different chord with him, and after forays in beverage PR, Robin founded Blackadder.
A bottler consistently looking to evolve and progress, Blackadder has become synonymous with pure, raw whisky that refuses to cut corners and bottles all its whiskies as single cask and most at cask strength.

The cask
IS KING
Blackadder’s philosophy is very simple; the Cask is King.
Sixty to seventy percent of the flavours in a whisky are taken up slowly from the cask as the spirit lies maturing in the warehouse. By altering the temperature, the spirit is drawn in and out of the cask. And as a result, each cask is inimitable and unique.
Blackadder don’t subscribe to chilling and heavily filtering their whiskies. Similarly, caramel colouring and flavouring aren’t this bottlers modus operandi.
Blackadder’s casks provide more than enough colour and personality, just as they are.

“I started working for the family business before I even knew what whisky was,” reveals Hannah.
