We only bottle what we want
We have a wide range of casks and whiskies in our warehouses in Campbeltown but we only select the ones that we want to be bottled.

It all started in Aberdeen for Cadenhead.
The firm of William Cadenhead Limited, Wine and Spirit Merchants, was founded in the 1840’s.
The distillery remained in the same family until the 1970’s, when it was taken over by the well-known Campbeltown firm of J & A Mitchell & Co, who own the nearby Springbank Distillery.
When the Mitchell family purchased Cadenhead in 1972, the Campbeltown-based distillery assumed the stock of Cadenhead’s Aberdeen warehouse. Crammed from cellar to roof, the warehouse’s contents extended across a catalogue of 167 pages and was, to that date, the largest sale of wines and spirits held in Great Britain.
Wow. And here we were thinking The Odd Whisky Coy was well-stocked…

Cadenhead own thousands of casks and are continually buying more. In doing so, the distillery has a wide variety to choose from when it comes to bottling and future releases.
“It’s what’s inside the bottle that counts,” says anyone who understands whisky. And for Cadenhead whisky, their selection of casks is a crucial component to their process.
Quality over quantity prevails at Cadenhead. The distillery only releases what they want to bottle, regardless of the whisky’s age, what distillery it’s from, or how well it’s projected to sell.
